At Merluza in Birmingham, T-bar highlights for shorter hair add brightness and dimension right where it counts. We target the parting and crown for a clean, fresh lift that suits crops and bobs, reads beautifully on camera, and grows out softly.
Your colour is mapped to your cut, texture, and skin tone. We choose the right weave and lift level for subtle, seamless light that flatters your shape and preserves hair integrity.

Who It’s For
Clients with short haircuts above the shoulder who want brightness without a full head of foils. Ideal for freshening a bob or crop, softening greys through the parting, or keeping a face-frame light between larger colour visits. If hair is very dense or longer than shoulder length, a half head or full head highlight may be more suitable.
Duration & Appointment Timing
Service time is 90 minutes for most short hair. A colour patch test is required at least 48 hours before your appointment if you are new to colour with us or if your last test was more than 6 months ago. Adding a blow-dry or cut and blow-dry will extend the visit. First-time guests should arrive a few minutes early for the consultation.
Aftercare & Maintenance
Use colour-safe, sulfate-free shampoo and always apply heat protection. A weekly hydrating or bond-care mask supports strength and shine. Purple or blue toning products can help control warmth when appropriate. Rebook T-bar highlights every 6 to 10 weeks, with a gloss refresh every 8 to 12 weeks to keep the tone clean and reflective.
